A Really Big Shrew

What do you get when you add the wit and wordplay of William Shakespeare to the wit and musical stylings of Cole Porter? Kiss Me, Kate, of course — but also a great night out. Former lovers Lilli and Fred are set to star in a high-risk production of The Taming of the Shrew, but their romantic past threatens to wreck the show. The thugs hanging out backstage to collect on a gambling debt threaten to wreck Fred's fingers, at the least. Picture it: lovers scorned, lovers reconnected, lovers singing "So in Love" — and mobsters. Good times, great songs. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis presents Kiss Me, Kate at the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves; 314-968-4925 or www.repstl.org) Wednesday, November 28, through Friday, December 28 (no performances on Monday). Tickets are $16 to $63.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 28. Continues through Dec. 28, 2007
