A New Resolution

Feb 9, 2012 at 4:00 am
Mid-February is a time for reflection -- the last of the new year's resolutions die off, and we're forced to decide whether or not it's worth springing $39.95 each month on a gym we've only managed to sweat in twice. In A Collage of Pecha Kucha: Working Globally to Eleminate Extreme Poverty, Daniel B. Oerther will share moments from his humanitarian efforts, a perfect catalyst to repurpose that failed resolution guilt and leftover New Year's energy toward some real good. Oerther, the Missouri University of Science and Technology's Mathes Chair of Environmental Engineering, has worked to help those suffering from extreme poverty secure access to water and sanitation. Hear him speak today at 12:15 p.m. inside the University of Missouri St. Louis J.C. Penney Conference Center (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-5961 or www.ce.umsl.edu/mondaynoon) and bring your cell phone for interactive audience texting. The presentation is free and open to the public.
