A Little Space

by

One of the best elements of every year's St. Louis Filmmakers' Showcase are the shorts programs. Unified only by theme, these cinematic grab-bags offer a broad look at the work produced by a number of local filmmakers. This year's Thriller & Sci-Fi shorts program includes Mike Rohlfing's "EVT," which won the 48 Hour Film Project back in early June. Also on the bill are Richard Taylor's "Alone," which is about a lone scout lost in deep space; Fed Wetherbee's rebels-fighting-for-their-planet adventure "A Light in the Darkness"; and "Strega: Unbound," in which a Nazi cult needs to steal an ancient manuscript and only a reluctant Professor Eidelberg can help them. The Thriller & Sci-Fi program starts at 9:30 p.m. tonight at the Landmark Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar Boulevard, University City; www.cinemastlouis.org). Tickets are $10 to $12.
