A Life Altered

by

Playwright Mario Farwell is on a bit of a hot streak with First Run Theatre. His The Last Days of Café Café was performed by FRT in the 2004-’05 season, and his I Am Goat opened FRT’s 2007 season. The Seamstress of St. Francis Street, another Farwell drama, is the group’s current production. Seamstress, which is set in north St. Louis in 1958, tells the story of Helen Wilcox, a woman struggling to keep her secrets -- even as her wild-child sister Camilla returns and threatens to disrupt her well-controlled life. The Seamstress of St. Francis Street plays at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday (August 11 through 19) at the DeSmet Jesuit High School Theatre (233 North New Ballas Road, Creve Coeur; 314-352-5114 or www.firstruntheatre.com). Tickets are $8 to $12.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 11. Continues through Aug. 19
