A Charlie Daniels Christmas

7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 17. The Family Arena, 2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles.

There's something truly epic about the Charlie Daniels Band hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." Like a country-rock version of "American Pie," Daniels' signature song seems endless but never drags, and its tale of good's triumph over evil through the raw power of music is always a little inspiring. So maybe it's not so surprising that the Southern-rock mainstay comes to town for A Charlie Daniels Christmas to celebrate the season in which, in the Christian tradition, good triumphs over evil, and the faithful celebrate in song. Daniels will be performing his non-seasonal hits as well as selections from his Christmas releases, including the recently released CD/DVD combo Joy to the World: A Bluegrass Christmas.
