The 22-20s earned moderate buzz earlier last decade with its distinctly British take on blues-rock — and then, very quietly, the band broke up in 2006. With even less fanfare, the band reunited permanently last year for a tour and new music. The resulting full-length, Shake/Shiver/Moan, is a diverse effort with enough room for Kinks-like jangle-pop ("Ocean"), cheeky British pub-rock ("Talk To Me") and slower, blues-fuzz songs ("Bitter Pills"). The latter reinforces why the band is opening for Cage the Elephant, itself no slouch at swampy, trembling blues jams.
