20th Century Visionaries: Print and Photographs from the Permanent Collection

The Saint Louis University Museum of Art has emptied its vaults to display some heavy hitters from its extensive collection. 20th Century Visionaries: Print and Photographs from the Permanent Collection surveys the development of various worldwide artistic movements (such as abstract expressionism, surrealism and pop art) from the 1950s to the present. More than 40 major artists of the last century, including Chuck Close, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Francis Bacon, Joan Miro, Andy Warhol, Vassily Kandinsky and Marc Chagall are featured in this exhibit which celebrates the museum's impressive holdings.

Opening reception 5 p.m. Fri., Mar. 6. Show continues 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Wed.-Sun. through June 28. Saint Louis University Museum of Art (3663 Lindell Boulevard; 314-977-2666 or sluma.slu.edu.) Free admission.
