The art you see on the cover of a publication is very special to the storytelling experience. No matter if it's a photograph, an illustration or some combination of the two, the cover sets the tone for what a reader will find inside and plays a major role in how the lead feature is told and received. The Riverfront Times publishes 52 creative, informative covers each year -- along with a few special guides and inserts -- but these are the eighteen pieces of cover art and their corresponding stories that stood out to us in 2014.

Many of our news cover stories can be found here. Cover stories about music, dining and the arts can be found by typing "longform" in the search bar on our site.
