St. Louis Attorney Joseph Neill is accused of sexually abusing a client.
A longtime St. Louis lawyer has been charged with sexual abuse, accused of molesting a client in his office.
Attorney Joseph Neill, 66, was issued a criminal summons today on the misdemeanor charge, court records show.
The incident allegedly took place on Sept. 29, 2018 at Neill's law office on South Hampton Avenue in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood of south city. Prosecutors say the woman told a detective she was in the office at a copy machine when Neill took her hand and put it on the crotch of his pants, forcing her to stroke his penis over his clothes.
No lawyer was listed for Neill in court records. When the RFT
called his law office, an employee who answered the phone said Neill was not in the office this afternoon, but that she would pass along a message. (We'll update this post if we hear back.)
The criminal summons calls for Neill to appear in court on April 24.
