Former Cardinals center fielder and current broadcaster for Fox Sports Midwest Jim Edmonds says his daughter was among those attending a concert in Las Vegas that ended in a deadly mass shooting Sunday night.
In an Instagram post
Monday morning, Edmonds says that his daughter Hayley was "actually running for her life" while the shooting took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. "Thank god she is ok," he writes. "Some friends not accounted for yet."
Las Vegas police said during a press conference Monday morning that 58 people have been killed and more than 500 people were injured in the attack. The gunman, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, fired from the 32nd floor of the Mandelay Bay Hotel into a crowd of people watching a performance by country singer Jason Aldean.
The mass shooting is the deadliest in United States history.
