You can take your dog on a paddleboat — or on more than 80 tourist destinations across the city.
No, it's not just your imagination: St. Louis really is going to the dogs. In fact, the city offers more "pet-inclusive tourist activities" than anywhere else in the country.
That's according to a study
released this morning by RewardExpert, a website that helps consumers makes sense of points and frequent flier miles
. A plethora of pet-friendly museums, sites and tours helped St. Louis make the grade, a spokeswoman tells us.
Now, our dog-friendly tourist activities were only one factor of many going into the site's overall list of "Best Cities to Visit with Pets." The study also looked at things like the number of pet-friendly hotels, the number of veterinarians per capita and the number of pet-friendly beaches.
Yet even with our appalling lack of beaches, St. Louis scored high on the overall list, notching a seventh-place finish out of 53 cities. Tampa took No. 1, followed by San Francisco and Miami.
And yes, as you might have guessed based on that ranking, weather was indeed one of the factors under consideration. But hey, who needs balmy weather and beaches when you can take your dog paddleboating? And did you know Laumiere Sculpture Park will let your dog mark his territory on a Trova
? Bet you can't do that
