The two people found dead of gunshot wounds in separate St. Louis city shootings Saturday night are brother and sister, according to St. Louis police.
Margaree Dixon, 35, and her brother Jermaine Jones, 29, were both shot to death within three hours of each other late Saturday and early Sunday. Their bodies were found less than half a mile apart in the Walnut Park East neighborhood.

Police found Dixon unconscious lying in the street near the alley in the 5600 block of Lillian Avenue at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday night, according to police reports. Dixon, of the 4900 block of Davidson Avenue in Walnut Park East, had gunshot wounds to the head, chest, arms and hands. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hours later, just after 2 a.m. Sunday, Jones was on his way to the hospital after being shot in the chest and leg. Three witnesses -- men aged 36, 23 and 19 who were uninjured during the shooting -- told police they were standing in the 5700 block of Saloma Avenue when an unknown black male suspect fired shots at them. They then drove Jones to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police found two firearms from the victims' car, according to police reports. An unoccupied house and a vehicle in the 4900 block of Wren sustained damage from gunfire.
A sister and family friend of Dixon and Jones struggled to hold back tears while asking for help in a KTVI Channel 2 interview about the back-to-back deaths.
"The don't have any insurance," says Ann Carlson, a family friend, to KTVI. "If anybody could help them or help us out, it will help."
The family didn't speculate on whether the shootings were connected or random.
"There's too much violence going on," says Nicole Rice, sister of Dixson and Jones, to KTVI. "I can't sleep. I can't think. It can't work. I can't do anything wondering if my son will be a victim to the streets."
Police describe the suspects only as unknown black males. Investigations are ongoing.
