Willie Earl Reed, 54, faces charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action after investigators found his girlfriend beaten to death earlier this week.
Police found the body of Delores Hundley, 64, at 10:14 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of N. Seventh Street, where she and Reed both lived, according to police reports.
Hundley had suffered head trauma, and further investigation showed she had been beaten to death, police say. She was attacked between 2 and 3 a.m. the night before she was found.The Circuit Attorney's Office says Hundley's attacker used a baseball bat to bash her head in.

Reed, who was charged Thursday, is in jail without bond. Police took him into custody soon after Hundley was found dead.

Date/Time: 03/24/14 between 2 a.m. - 3 a.m.
Victim: Delores Hundley, a 64-year old black female of the 1200 block of N. 7th St.
Suspect: 54-year old black male of the 1200 block of N. 7th St.
At 10: 14 a.m., homicide investigators were requested to the 1200 block of N 7th St. for a deceased female. The victim suffered head trauma. Investigation revealed she had been beaten to death. The victim's boyfriend was taken into custody. If/when warrants are issued by the Circuit Attorney's Office, the suspect's name and booking photo will be released.
