Dominic Arrington faces murder charges after a 25-year-old woman was found lying dead covered in unidentified puncture wounds in an apartment complex driveway.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police found the body of April Fields, of the Berkeley neighborhood, with stab wounds on her torso and buttocks at 12:30 p.m. on January 8. Hers was the third homicide in St. Louis City in 2014.
On Sunday, the Circuit Attorney's office charged Arrington, 38, of the 10000 block of Toelle Lane, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Arrington is being held without bond.
Fields lived in St. Louis with her 3-year-old daughter to be near her mother's family while she took business classes at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the Kaplan University Learning Center, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. About 180 people attended her funeral at the Third Presbyterian Church in Moline Acres.
Police have not released the cause of death or other details in this case.
