Crime hurts, folks.
Driving a stolen car, Robert Gusman, 34, led police on a "brief" pursuit northbound on Highway 55 Friday before being apprehended by St. Louis County officers.
Gusman had carjacked the vehicle from the parking lot of St. Anthony's Hospital in South County just after 1 p.m., according to police. After acquiring the new set of wheels, he drove directly to a credit union, where Gusman gave the teller note that implied he had a weapon and demanded money.
The teller was able to describe both Gusman and his getaway car to the cops, resulting in what appears to have been a very unpleasant arrest experience.
Gusman, of the 600 block of San Gabriel Place, is charged with two counts of first degree robbery, armed criminal action, and resisting arrest by fleeing.
Police say that Gusman was reported as a missing person by his mother on Wednesday, as she had not seen or heard from him since October 17.
