Ronell Johnson, a 46-year-old lieutenant with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, was pulled over and arrested for allegedly driving drunk on Tuesday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

He was driving westbound on I-70 by St. Charles Rock Road when he was pulled over for a traffic violation, Lt. Elvin Seals with the highway patrol, tells Daily RFT.

"Further investigation revealed the lone occupant of the vehicle to be intoxicated," he says.

Johnson was booked at the Maryland Heights Police Department and then subsequently released.

Seals says Johnson was failing to maintain a single lane. He says he was arrested without incident.

A spokeswoman with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department tells Daily RFT that Johnson is a nearly 25-year veteran of the department and that he is assigned to the 7th District.

He is currently on "administrative duty" pending an internal investigation.
