He knows his St. Louis Blues hockey and has lent his name to University of Missouri. And just in case anyone questions his hometown allegiances, this week Jon Hamm went to bat for the St. Louis Cardinals.
The star of Mad Men was on Daily Show Monday night when -- among other things -- he discussed baseball with host Jon Stewart. Actually, Hamm mostly poked fun at Stewart for being a Mets fan in the following dialogue:
Stewart: Are you a baseball guy? Are you a baseball fan?
Hamm: I am. I'm a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. There was a nice rivalry we had [with the New York Mets] in the 1980s. You won one World Series. We went to three and won one.
Stewart: And you won some more in the '90s. [Note: This is not correct.]
Hamm: And also in the 2000s! We are a really good team.
Stewart: Yeah, yeah you were. We're thinking of actually starting a team again.
The baseball talking begins around the 5:05 mark in the video below.
