Two St. Louis county sisters, ages thirteen and eleven, managed to escape Samwell Fowler, 25, who police say lured the young girls into his car at the mall and then tried to sexually assault them.
County police announced yesterday that Fowler, who lives on Pennsylvania Avenue in St. Louis, has been charged with two counts of enticement of a minor with a $50,000 bond set.
The thirteen-year-old girl contacted a school resource officer last week and reported the attempted assault against her and her sister -- and explained how they got away from the perpetrator.
Police say that on Friday March 8, the girls' father dropped the pair off at the south-county mall (at 100 South County Center Way). They were there to spend time with friends, officials say.
When the mall was closing, Samwell Fowler, whom police say the girls didn't know, offered them a ride -- and the two got in his car.
He then drove them past their home and into a nearby alley, where he allegedly asked them for sexual favors.
When they refused, he offered them money.
Police say, "The two were able to unlock the vehicle doors and escape before walking home without further incident."
After a joint investigation of the St. Louis County Police Department's Special Investigative Unit and the St. Louis Metro Police Department's Intelligence Unit and Cyber Crime Unit, authorities were able to identify Fowler and take him into custody.
