This week's cover story follows the story of local boxer Ryan Coyne -- he fought on The Contender, he fought at the "Gateway to Greatness" event at the Scottrade Center, he fought at the "Show Me Something Great" event in St. Charles, and then...what happened?
Coyne says he never went anywhere, but that his promoter -- the legendary Don King -- left his career high and dry, along with another half-dozen or so other potential boxing greats. The 81-year-old King earned a shady reputation in the '70s, '80s, and '90s, but now, a new generation of fighters say he's still at it today.
As our story details, Coyne tried to break free, and now both he and King are suing one another. We interviewed Coyne at Sweat Gym in Clayton to let him tell the story in his own words. Check out our video below.
