Here's your weekly St. Louis bestseller list for the week ending December 2, as compiled by the St. Louis Independent Booksellers Alliance and based on sales at Left Bank Books, Main Street Books, Pudd'nhead Books and Subterranean Books.
This week, there are three books on the local St. Louis independent bestseller list published by the same local St. Louis independent publisher, Blank Slate Press: Never Hug a Nun, a memoir of a Webster Groves childhood by Kevin Killeen; Driving Alone, a novel by Kevin Lynn Helmick and Off the Leash, a memoir of a cross-country road trip by Jean Ellen Whatley.
Over on the kids' list, it's starting to look a lot like Christmas: The Elf on the Shelf, Dinosaur vs. Santa and Christmas Wombat. And also Puff, the Magic Dragon Pop-Up, which we predict will be dragged out in future years to prove that the original "Puff" is about marijuana. Come on, man, the evidence is totally there! You just have to know where to look.
