Seven People Shot in Five Separate Incidents on Sunday


Police had a busy Sunday throughout St. Louis City, as seven people were shot in five separate incidents.

In the most serious incident, a 25-year-old black man was shot multiple times while in the parking lot of White Castle at 3524 North Kingshighway in the Kingsway East neighborhood at 11:30 p.m. He tried to drive himself to the hospital and crashed his car at North Kingshighway and Terry Avenue. He's in critical unstable condition at an area hospital with gunshots to his abdomen, arm and leg.

Other shootings occurred at Page Boulevard and Taylor Avenue in Lewis Place, where an 18-year-old man and a 24-year-old black man were shot in the head and face, respectively, while sitting at a stop light; In the 2500 block of Hodiamont Avenue in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood at 6:43 p.m. when a pedestrian was shot in the left thigh and right arm by a drive-by shooter; In the 3700 block of Walsh Street in Dutchtown South at 11:30 p.m. when an 18-year-old black man was shot in the left shoulder while trying to flee the scene in his car after his path was blocked by another car with four passengers; and back in Kingsway East at 12:05 a.m. Monday morning when an 18-year-old black man was shot in the left cheek while walking in the 4700 block of Ashland Avenue. His assailant was in a silver SUV, possibly a Chevy.

Police continue to work all five cases, and no suspects have been identified or apprehended at this point.
