Last Monday a kayaker on the Little Blue River in Independence, Missouri, found something unusual in the water just north of E.R.D. Mize Road: a skeletonized human hand. Eight days later and ten miles downstream, the other shoe dropped. On Tuesday of this week, a shoe was found with what has been determined to be human remains according to the Kansas City Star.

What the hell's going on upstream of the Little Blue?

At this point, authorities are still searching for answers. Missouri Search and Rescue K-9 returned to the site of the second discovery today to hunt for more human remains.

The hand was sent to the University of Texas to determine if it could be identified. Now police intend to compare DNA from the hand and foot to determine if they belong to the same person.
