Winter Forecast: Midwest to Experience Brutal Temps, Lots of Ice and Snow


If you thought last winter was bad (remember "Snowmaggedon," anyone?) brace yourself for worse this year. released its predictions for the 2011-2012 winter today, and the Midwest is expected to have crappiest weather in all the land. The website predicts colder than average temperatures for the region and above-normal precipitation. The southern plains -- including Missouri -- are expected to have more ice than snow. Joy.

So, who to blame for the this year's dire prediction? La Nina, says, which tends to create colder winters in the U.S.
