Hypocrisy Alert! Telemarketers Don't Want To Be Solicited

I happened by this door front recently in south St. Louis and just couldn't help but stop and smile.

The sign on the door says the building in the 3200 block of Ivanhoe is home to the National Association of Telemarketers. But that's not what stopped me in my tracks. It was the big red sign next to the door that warned: "Absolutely NO SOLICITING".

So let's get this straight: Telemarketers have the right to call us but we can't call on them!? Oh, the hypocrisy!

For the record, I couldn't find any organization called the "National Association of Telemarketers" in an online search or registered with the Missouri Secretary of State's Office. And although I walked by fairly late in the evening, it appears the National Association of Telemarketers is no longer in business. We have cell phones and "no call lists" to thank for that.
