Deon Greenwood, of the 3600 block of Hartford, was pronounced dead around 11 a.m. Monday. He'd been shot multiple times.

Greenwood's family says that he was mentally challenged and believe the gunman had the wrong target. Fox 2 reports that three children were also in the apartment yesterday morning but escaped injury.

Residents say that gunfire erupted in the neighborhood on Sunday night. They believe that the shooting may have resulted from that earlier gunplay, with Greenwood killed in a case of mistaken identity.

Police had no suspects or motives in his killing as of yesterday.
