Byron Smith Jr.: St. Louis Homicide No. 60; Dies Three Days After Shooting


Byron Smith Jr. died yesterday in a hospital, three days after being shot while walking down a street in the Jeff-Vander-Lou Neighborhood of north St. Louis.

According to police, Smith Jr. was in the 3100 block of Garrison around 8:51 p.m. Thursday when he was shot multiple times in the torso. Smith Jr. was able to give police a description of his attacker, though no one has yet been charged with the crime. It's now been reclassified as a homicide.
