Burglars Invade Central West End Apartment, Hold Residents at Gunpoint

Three people in the Central West End are recovering from a scare after two armed men burst into their apartment early this morning.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, a 22-year-old man was in his living room in the 4000 block of Westminster (above) when two black males with bandannas around their faces entered through the unsecured back door of the apartment around 12:50 a.m. today.

One of the suspects held the three people inside the apartment at gunpoint as the second suspect rummaged through the residence, grabbing two laptop computers and two cell phones. The suspects, believed to be in their early 20s, then left out the back door. Police describe all three victims -- two men and a woman -- as being in their early 20s and of Asian ethnicity.

At the risk of stereotyping, we suspect that the victims could be students at nearby Saint Louis University or Washington University. Police, however, could not provide Daily RFT with the occupation of the victims.
