A 21-year-old black man was shot last night in the parking lot of Caldwell's Package Liquor, 4163 North Grand Street, and is now in critical condition.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the victim, who is not being identified, was sitting in a parked car with a friend when the suspect got into the car and began talking to the pair. The suspect shot the victim in the arm and the jaw before fleeing in another car.

There are conflicting descriptions of that second car, according to the police, but the suspect is described as "a black male, early 20s, around 5'9 and 160 lbs, light complexion, mustache, low haircut, wearing a tan puffy coat, black t-shirt and dark jeans." The investigation is ongoing.
