Comment of the Day: Reader Blames Ritz-Carlton Bed Intrusion on State's Pot Policy

Today's comment of the day comes in response to our post about Daniel Hughes, a Pennsylvania man charged with assaulting a nine-year-old girl in her bed at Clayton's Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Reader Kreamalmeyer_bobbie pontificates that Hughes' reprehensible behavior while drunk might be somehow related to Missouri's love of alcohol -- and unwillingness to legalize pot.

He writes,

wtf!?!? The Ritz-Carlton, come one now. The whole statistic that we are one of the drunkest cities in the US I use to disagree with. But this right here is a prime example we have a big problem with alcohol in this damn city. Hell theres liquor stores everywhere in St. Louis...the problem would probably go away if Missouri(Mizery) would do what California and Colorado have done with marijuana. The reason most of us drink like this is because we are scared of the cops and their actions toward marijuana... like Bob Marley said, "Herb is the healing of a nation, alcohol is the destruction." well in this case a city not a nation....
