Today's comment of the day comes in response to a post about the movie The Black Hole that aired last weekend on the SyFy Channel. The 2006 film, starring Judd Nelson and based in St. Louis, imagines what would happen if a research experiment goes horribly wrong, creating a black hole that threatens to swallow up an entire city.

As commenter Kitty Litter King writes, the science-fiction flick seems to mirror reality.
The mayor in the movie builds a downtown shopping center to stop the spread of the black hole. It fails. True story.
