Need any more proof that Americans are destined to keep getting fatter
Consider the fate of the YouMuseum
in Columbia. The $8-million attraction opened just two years ago as a science center designed to promote health, wellness and fitness in mid-Missouri. This weekend the museum shuttered its doors for good.
The non-profit isn't saying why it closed, though some have suggested that ticket prices ($8 for adults) doomed the museum.
"If everything had worked out and we hadn't had a problem with the economy, there's a good chance the YouZeum would have succeeded," former YouZeum board member Jim Ritter told the Columbia Tribune
