St. Louis police responded to a call of shots fired around 8:30 p.m. October 6. Collins, of the 4300 block of Cook, had been shot multiple times. Court records show that a man with the same name and year of birth as Collins had multiple run-ins with the law over the years, including guilty pleas for marijuana possession and resisting arrest in the 1990s and driving without a license in 2003 and 2006. An investigation into his murder is ongoing.
