Scott Crawford: St. Louis Homicide No. 87; Found Dead in Alley

Scott Crawford became city's seventh homicide in a span of five days when his body was discovered last night in an alley in the 5100 block of Greer (below).

Crawford, described as a 24-year-old black male from the block of 5200 of St. Louis Avenue, had been shot in the head. Witnesses report hearing gunshots and two male suspects running from the scene. An investigation is ongoing.

Daily RFT has a call in with police to see if they have an explanation for the spate of violence over the last few days that's killed seven (possibly eight with a 70-year-old man found dead in the street last night in south city -- more on that later) and injured even more than that. We'll update this post when we hear back from them.
