Missouri Fireworks Stand Blows Its Top: "It Looked Like the 4th of July"

A fireworks stand in Troy -- 45 minutes northwest of St. Louis -- exploded early this morning in spectacular display of patriotic fervor. The only problem? The show came five days too early.

Lincoln County fire marshall Barry Nuss tells Fox 2 this morning that the explosion "looked like the 4th of July" and could be seen from as far away as three to four miles.

No word on what caused the firecrackers to ignite. Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze, though the stand is now closed for business having flamed out a bit prematurely this year.
