Jerami Henderson: St. Louis Homicide No. 52; The First Slaying of a Bullet-Riddled Weekend

Summer is clearly heating up in St. Louis: two people were murdered and three wounded in separate incidents across north city this weekend.

Eighteen-year-old Jerami Henderson was shot dead during a melee on the 4900 block of Beacon Ave.

A 30-year-old male took a bullet in the buttocks and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Later, another 18-year-old black male arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound in his leg. Police say he is a suspect in the murder.


Later that evening, at 12:18 a.m. on Saturday morning, a firefight erupted on the 5000 block of Arlington Ave.

That incident left an 18-year-old black male in the hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to the Globe-Democrat, he told police "he and four friends were firing guns at the location. The victim asked one of his friends to see the gun. They argued and the friend shot the victim. Everyone fled the scene." Police say they havea suspect and they are attempting to track him down.
