Man Shot Dead in East St. Louis, City's 3rd Homicide of Year

East St. Louis experienced its third homicide of the year last night when a 46-year-old man was gunned down at the corner of 33rd and Bond.

Police found the victim dead around 11:50 p.m. Thursday in a vacant lot across from the Straightway Baptist Church.

Daily RFT has a call in with Illinois State Police who are assisting East St. Louis police in the investigation.

As of earlier today, authorities had not released the identity of the victim.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports that police arrested an unnamed 43-year-old man and a woman into custody for questioning.
