More on Shahid Khan, His Fabulous 'Stache, Republican Leanings and No Comment

Khan he grow a mustache? Yes.
  • Khan he grow a mustache? Yes.
Is it me or does Shahid Khan's mustache grow more resplendent with each new photo to surface of the St. Louis Rams prospective new owner?

The first image of Khan revealed yesterday showed a man with a thick, workmanlike 'stache circa a 1982 dockworker. Today's photos of Khan show a man with a flamboyant, waxed-tip beauty more akin to Salvador Dali than Lech Walesa

Khan's lip hair has already won over Dr. Aaron Perlut of the St. Louis-based American Mustache Institute. Writing on the website Joe Sports Fan yesterday, Perlut noted:
Khan is not just an American. He is a Mustached American, and he joins Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf as the only Mustached American majority owners in professional football...Khan joins Rams minority owner Stan Kroenke (another lip-hair wearer), who as of now will retain his remaining 40 percent of the team, to form a Mustached American center of power. This all coming appropriately in the shadow of the world's largest mustache -- St. Louis' Gateway Arch.
And what do wealthy, mustached men generally share in common? Republican leanings. The Post-Dispatch reports that Khan tends to give his money to G.O.P. candidates. That said, you could hardly call him a big political donor with just  $7,500 in contributions to federal campaigns since 1995.

Also today Khan made his first public comments about purchasing the Rams. In short, he politely stated that he had "no comment."
I recently signed an agreement with respect to the purchase of the St. Louis Rams.  The proposed transaction is subject to approval by the National Football League and its owners. To that end, I am excited to begin the approval process and will, in accordance with league policy, proceed on a confidential basis and refrain from public comment.  As a long time Rams fan and supporter of the City of St. Louis, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be considered by the NFL and am extremely grateful for the trust placed in me by Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez.
