Daughter of P.J. Walters Fighting For Her Life

P.J. Walters and his wife Brittney have just given birth to a baby girl. She was delivered by Caesarean section far premature, and weighs less than four pounds.

Walters, you may remember, is the soft-tossing changeup artist who made Alfonso Soriano look so very foolish last year, tossing slider after slider past the Cubs' slugger. Walters was also a darkhorse candidate to make the Cards' rotation this season out of spring training, as the club has no set fifth starter as of yet.

Walters and his wife have requested prayers, so if you're the praying type, get kneebound now and send what you can their way. If you're not, send them whatever happy thoughts you can. They're going to need all the help they can get.

Brian Walton over at the Cardinal Nation has a special thread devoted to messages sent to the Walters family. Head on over and send them something that way, as well.

To P.J. and his family, I offer my love, and thoughts, and wishes, and prayers. I invite you all to do the same.
