Police arrested Michael A.J. Pulliam, 23, last week for the killing of Lamar Mills, 31.

Pulliam, of the 5200 block of South Broadway, is accused of shooting Mills on Dec. 1 near Bellerive Park in south St. Louis. When police arrived to park for a "shots fired" call, they located evidence to indicate a shooting had occurred but located no victim.

Mills was found several hours later deceased inside of a vehicle in Berkeley. Investigators determined that Mills had been the victim in the shooting in the 100 block of Bellerive. The investigation revealed that Mills had been with two additional persons at the time of the shooting but they had not been injured during the confrontation with the suspect. The investigaton also revealed that the incident was drug-related.

Pulliam remains in custody on a $500,000 cash-only bond and is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action.
