Cops Nab Laclede Gas Scam Suspect

Guess the thief finally found one little old lady who didn't buy his faux-porno plot. Here's the press release sent out last night by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police:

Around 3:30pm a citizen called 911 after a man matching the description of the suspect showed up at her door saying he was from Laclede. The woman did not let the man inside and he eventually left. A short time after receiving the call, 3 police officers saw a man matching the description given by the woman and who matched the description previously given by prior victims of the Laclede Gas scam. He was taken into custody in the 3800 block of Marine and is believed to be the suspect in each of the incidents mentioned in the press release attached (viewable after the jump.) The suspect, who is in his early 40's, remains in custody tonight. Warrants will be sought tomorrow with the Circuit Attorney's Office. The suspect's name will be released if/when warrants are issued.

Dumb? Opening the door and letting a gas repairman you didn't call. Dumber? Keeping up the scam after police have notified the public and issued a description of you. Dumbest? These guys:
