Everyone knows about Comic-Con, which happens every summer in San Diego. It's a glorious convention that attracts nerds from all over. But it's safe to say that less people know about the Superman Celebration, which takes place the second weekend in June and swells tiny Metropolis, Illinois to 30,000-plus, according to the local chamber of commerce.

In this week's feature story, photographer Jennifer Silverberg takes you to the most recent Superman Celebration, in her story, "Isn't That Super? A dispatch from the 31st annual Superman Celebration in -- where else? -- Metropolis, Illinois."
