Police received a call for a holdup where one person had been shot. Upon arrival, victim Michael P. Dolan was found to have been shot twice in the back. He was taken to the hospital where he died at 2:26 am.
The investigation revealed that around 11:30 pm, there were 5 people (including employees), inside Maggie O'Brien's when 2 Black males entered, showed guns and announced a holdup.
The 2 Black males ordered everyone to the ground. The victim, a bartender at Maggie O'Brien's, ran to a back area of Maggie O'Brien's, with Suspect #1 following. Suspect #2 continued to hold the bar patrons and employees at gunpoint, taking one person's wallet. Several shots were heard coming from the back area of Maggie O'Brien's.
When neither the victim or Suspect #1 returned from the back area,
Suspect #2 -- who had been holding the bar patrons and employees at
gunpoint -- fired one shot near the back area of Maggie O'Brien's, then
ran. Suspect #2 apparently also ran out. The victims who'd been held
at gunpoint, discovered victim Michael P. Dolan and called police at
Around 11:47 pm, a Black male dropped another Black
male off at Children's Hospital, telling hospital personnel that the
man had been shot. He then left the hospital. Hospital personnel
contacted police. The injured man, who'd been shot once in the chest,
died during surgery at 2:30 am. Though his identity was unknown at the
time, (there was no identification located in his belongings),
investigators suspected that the man could be one of the suspects in
the Maggie O'Brien's attempted robbery and homicide. They began
investigating this possibility due to the time that the man was dropped
off at the hospital, the fact that the person who'd dropped him off
left the hospital immediately, and that police had received no other
calls for any "shootings" where the victim could not be located.
Black male who was dropped off at the hospital was later identified by
his mother as 30-year-old Derrick Bell. The investigation has since
revealed Derrick Bell was Suspect #1. Derrick Bell was shot by Suspect #2, when Suspect #2 fired his weapon towards the back area of Maggie O'Brien's.
have since determined that Suspect #2 is Devin L. Mosley.
Investigators also determined that a third person, Suspect #3, drove
the vehicle to Maggie O'Brien's, served as a look-out outside while
Suspect #1 and Suspect #2 were inside. Suspect #3 also drove from
Maggie O'Brien's to the hospital and was the person who dropped Bell
off at the hospital. Investigators have since determined that Suspect
#3 is Jacson D. Baker.
Suspect #3, Baker (left), was arrested in
