A neighbor tells the Post-Dispatch that he saw a group of teenage boys playing in the alley with a sawed-off shotgun minutes before hearing a blast. The boys then fled, leaving the neighbor to wait with the victim -- first name, Andy -- while police and paramedics arrived. The boy was shot in his midsection.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
