Indulge me for a hot second.

A few years back I wrote a story titled "Party Nazis" that revealed a state and federal probe into several controversial tactics employed by Mardi Gras Inc. -- the non-profit agency charged with managing and organizing St. Louis' annual Mardi Gras festival.

Mardi Gras Inc. took great umbrage with the title of my article and years later they've yet to forget it. (Read this nasty letter from Mardi Gras Inc.'s PR flak for further proof of that.)

So where am I going with this? Well, this morning I almost spit up my Cheerios while reading a Post-Dispatch article about a Nazi rally planned for downtown St. Louis this Saturday.

It seems St. Louis' finest agree. When it comes to Mardi Gras and Nazis, the two groups can be treated as one and the same.

Reports the Post-Dispatch:
A police department spokesperson said the same unit that handles Mardi Gras and other events is planning security for the neo-Nazi rally.
Ha!
