St. Louis' annual indie music celebration Twangfest announced yesterday the line up for its June festival.

Headlining the kickoff party at the Pageant on Wednesday, June 10, is the incomparable Alejandro Escovedo. The singer/songwriter last played in St. Louis a few years back. (He canceled a show last summer at the Duck Room.)

Last month, Escovedo cleaned up at the Austin Music Awards that kick off SXSW -- winning musician of the year, album of the year and songwriter of the year.

Check out the RFT music blog A to Z for the full line-up of artists scheduled to play the four-day Twangfest.
