Honoring Joe Henry a.k.a. Tomorrow's Other Street-Naming Party

Tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. city officials in St. Louis will gather at an abandoned Schnucks supermarket at Delmar and North Kingshighway to dedicate a stretch of Delmar Boulevard as "Barack Obama Boulevard."

Across the river, in Brooklyn, Ill., city officials will gather to pay tribute to another great African American: "Prince" Joe Henry.

Henry died last month. A parade honoring the former Negro League player (and RFT columnist) begins at 11 a.m in Brooklyn.

Afterward the city will rename the 100 block of North Seventh Street "Prince Joe Henry Boulevard." A reception follows at the city's Lovejoy Center.
