Video: Boxing Trainer, 76, and His Eleven-Year-Old Fighters

Kristen Hinman takes you inside Kenny Loehr's 12th and Park boxing gym in this week's feature story, "Prized Fighter," and we've posted video interviews with Loehr and two of his younger fighters, Orlando Hill and Chris Rhodes, along with footage of their bouts.

Even at the tender age of eleven, Hill and Rhodes both talk openly about their dreams of fighting across the world, just before they take the ring on a recent Friday night at the Dunn-Marquette Rec Center in south St. Louis. Rhodes was readying for his first real bout and talks about his nerves, while Hill, who's already had 33 fights, shows off his repertoire of punches, smiling the whole time.

Meanwhile, in a hallway just out of view of the gym, Loehr reflects on his more than 50 years as boxing trainer, including a twelve-year stint coaching fighters at the DeSoto center in Pruitt-Igoe, a notorious housing project that used to be northwest of downtown.

Videos are after the jump.
