(Welcome to the inaugural entry in Hello? Is It Me You're Looking For? Each Monday, we'll scour the local Missed Connections section of Craigslist, in search of the best posts. Here are some that caught our eye this week.)
Department of "Where To Begin Parsing This One?": I am looking for a stripper named dawn - m4w - 38 (jeff county, cahokia): "she was a friend of my daughters that i dated. her real name is dawn & she was blond."
Vindictive, See Also: Guy who got pulled over on 55 North past Perryville - w4m (55 north, thursday afternoon): "I can't believe the cop pulled you over and not me. that was awesome. Sucks for you."
Department of "Well, This Narrows It Down": Local H show at Fubar, St. Louis - m4w (Fubar): "I am looking to contact the three young ladies who stood next to me at the Local H show Wed. night. We were near the front of the crowd on the left hand side facing the stage. I know two of your names, Amber and Christy. Contact me if you want to hang out again sometime. Oh, I had on the Local H t-shirt.
Inappropriate Pick-Up Venue of the Week: Blonde at Funeral Home on Thursday Night - m4w (south county): "you were wearing black slacks and red blouse. You and I noticed each other a couple of times. I think you have what I need and I'm sure you have what I need, if interested let me know what kind of coat you had on and which funeral home. You are a nurse."
Conversation-Stopper of the Week: Re: Re: RE: Drunk Guy at Denny's: "To the person defending the "Drunk Guy at Denny's" who wrote : You're a 52 year old alcoholic, the other guy is probably a 20 year old kid that had a night out drinking. Being drunk is not being A drunk. I spent a bit of time before turning 21 partying it up and having a good time and rarely drink now. Don't turn into one of those people that thinks that because you don't know when to say "when," other people will turn out the same way. One night out (that we know of) doesn't an alcoholic make
Give the guy a break, he was relaying his own life experience as to what can happen with what seems a simple night out drinking with friends. I agree that not everyone who goes out drinking will end up an alcoholic but then again every alcoholic thought a fun night out drinking with friends would not lead to a life of alcoholism!
I CAN TELL YOU IT HAPPENS... I AM MARRIED TO A MAN WHO STARTED DRINKING WITH HIS HIGH SCHOOL FRIENDS WHEN HE WAS 16 THINKING IT WAS ALL IN GOOD FUN AND NOW AT AGE 51 HE SUFFERS FROM DIABETES, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, HIGH CHOLESTEROL, GERD, DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE,HAS CARPAL TUNNEL, CHRONIC HEPATITIS C, STAGE 4 CIRRHOSIS OF THE LIVER, HAS 3 SMALL CYSTS AND A COMPLEX CYST ON ONE KIDNEY, IS ADDICTED TO OXYCODONE, LEXAPRO, XANAX, MARIJUANA AND DRINKS ABOUT A CASE OF BEER A DAY, NOW HAS ENCEPHALOPATHY AS WELL (INFLAMMATION OF THE BRAIN DUE TO TOXIN BUILD UP FROM LIVER FAILURE) WHICH IN COMBINATION WITH ALL OF THE ABOVE HAS MADE HIM MEAN, HATEFUL AND VIOLENT AT TIMES...HE HAS BEEN PHYSICALY UNABLE TO BE HUSBAND IN MORE THAN THREE YEARS NOW AND HIS AILMENTS AND MEDICAL COSTS HAVE ME NEAR BANKRUPTCY ... HE HAS LOST HIS PREVIOUS MARRIAGES, HIS CHILDREN, OFTEN HIS FREEDOM WHEN JAILED FOR DUI AND NON PAYMENT OF CHILD SUPPORT BECAUSE HE LOST JOB AFTER JOB DUE TO DRINKING .. ALCOHOL HAS MADE HIS LIFE IS A BED OF ROSES .. AND IT ALL STARTED WITH JUST A NIGHT OUT DRINKING WITH HIS FRIENDS!!
JUST KNOW IT CAN AND DOES HAPPEN... "
