'Nother Post Memo

In an apparent effort to save valuable time, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has drastically shortened its memos.

Don't believe me? Just contrast the haiku below with this stem-winder (you'll have to scroll down once you get to that link) from the same editor, which we reproduced in a post over the weekend.

FROM ADAM GOODMAN (ASSISTANT MANAGING EDITOR FOR METRO NEWS): Posted: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 Assistant Metro Editor Lisa Manns has resigned from the Post-Dispatch to pursue other opportunities. We wish her the best. -- ADAM GOODMAN

Though "resigned...to pursue other opportunities" is a commonly employed euphemism for "resigned, shmesigned -- we fired her [or him]," a source plugged in to doings at the Post says in this case "resigned" means "resigned."
