In an apparent effort to save valuable time, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has drastically shortened its memos.

Though "resigned...to pursue other opportunities" is a commonly employed euphemism for "resigned, shmesigned -- we fired her [or him]," a source plugged in to doings at the Post says in this case "resigned" means "resigned."
