Theater geeks, you have our permission to start freaking out.

Today the St. Louis Symphony announced that Leslie Odom Jr. will be performing with the orchestra at Powell Hall (718 N. Grand Blvd., 314-534-1700) on December 3 at 7 p.m. For the uninitiated, Odom Jr. starred as Aaron Burr in the original Broadway cast of the hit Hamilton, winning both the 2016 Tony Award for Lead Actor in a Musical and a Grammy for his principal soloist performance on the cast album.

His show at Powell Hall, titled "An Evening with Leslie Odom Jr.," will be a one-night-only event.

Now, we know you're wondering, but no, the performance will not feature music from Hamilton — you'll have to compete with the rest of St. Louis to see that at the Fabulous Fox next April. But Odom Jr.'s show will highlight hits from his 2016 debut solo album, Leslie Odom Jr., which hit No. 1 on the Billboard and iTunes Jazz charts.

If the Hamilton connection doesn't mean much to you, you may also recognize Odom Jr. from the TV shows Law & Order: SVU, Gotham, Person of Interest, Grey's Anatomy, House of Lies, Vanished, CSI: Miami or the NBC musical show Smash. He also was in the 2012 movie Red Tails.

You can purchase tickets for An Evening With Leslie Odom Jr. now by phone at 314-534-1700 or online on the St. Louis Symphony website.
